Jason T. Shilson has more than 22 years of experience with O’Keefe, Lyons & Hynes LLC and specializes in state and local tax litigation matters and the firm’s administrative appeals practice. Together with Mark Davis, Jason oversees hundreds of annual property tax appeals before the Illinois courts and the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board. He has prosecuted tax appeals across the country, including cases in California, Florida, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
A seasoned litigator, he has represented nearly every type of property owner (from Fortune 50 corporate, commercial and industrial companies to residential) in real property tax appeals and related tax matters. Mr. Shilson has worked at the O’Keefe firm for the significant majority of his career, having clerked for the firm while attending law school. He then joined the firm as an associate in 1994, after a year of practice with a national commercial litigation firm. He became a member/partner in 2002.
