John P. Nyhan

“I had extensive private industry experience before becoming an attorney. That expertise, along with my academic and legal training, provide a unique perspective that helps me better understand the issues my clients face as they operate their businesses. My overriding goal is to secure fair and reliable property tax outcomes that support their bottom line.”

Prior to joining O’Keefe Lyons & Hynes, John was Chief of Staff at the Board of Review for Cook County, a quasi-judicial real estate tax tribunal, where property owners appeal valuations set by the Assessor. In addition to supervising day-to-day operations, John acted as the Board’s senior hearing officer, resolving complex commercial and industrial property valuation claims.
