Jason T. Shilson specializes in state and local tax litigation matters and the firm’s administrative appeals practice. Together with Mark Davis, Jason oversees hundreds of annual appeals before the Illinois courts and the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board. He has prosecuted tax appeals in jurisdictions including California, Florida, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
A seasoned litigator, Jason has represented nearly every type of property owner (from Fortune 50 corporate, commercial and industrial companies to residential) in real property tax appeals and related tax matters.
Mr. Shilson has worked at O’Keefe, Lyons & Hynes for the significant majority of his career. He clerked for the firm while attending law school, and later joined as an associate in 1994 after a year of practice with a national commercial litigation firm. Mr. Shilson became a member in 2002.
